Whether you are looking for an educational, heartfelt, or relaxed experience, the Captivated by Chardonnay tour promises to exceed your expectations.
This one hour underground tour is divided into three parts. Visitors will start by learning where Chardonnay is produced in the world and how it spread to the Robertson Valley. Secondly, the tour will focus on the winemaker’s philosophy, the hand of the artisan, and why he pursues an elegant, unpretentious style in Chardonnay. Lastly, visitors will move to the deepest part of the underground tour where they will be looking at the history of wine dating back to 500 years B.C. The tour ends with a poetry reading, written by Philip Jonker, while visitors sip on the exclusive Poet’s Prayer Chardonnay.
This tour is an in-depth experience of the essence of Chardonnay, geography, geology, history, and hope. Visitors can experience all of this while savouring this noble cultivar in the dimly lit underground wine tanks.

The lay out of the cellar and underground tunnels was done in a very innovative way and the tasting of your excellent Chardonnay contributed to a most enjoyable experience. Sekerlik die beste wynplaastoer wat ek nog ervaar het en 'n hoogtepunt van my besoek aan Bonnievale. Nie net wynliefhebbers nie, maar ook enige toeris wat iets buitengewoons wil ervaar, moet moeite doen om Weltevrede te besoek. Die ou wynkuipe is ontwikkel in 'n besondere outentieke roete wat voel en ruik soos wynmaak. Dit moes baie fyn beplanning en nog baie meer harde werk gekos het! Die uitstallings is baie goed beplan en logies en verstaanbaar aangebied.Theo is welsprekend en 'n passievolle en baie goed ingeligte gids. Met sy persoonlike aanslag, voeg hy spesiale waarde by tot die toer. Ek is totaal bekeer tot Chardonnay! 'n Versoek: daar is so baie inligting wat ek nie kon lees in die beperkte tyd nie. Kan dit nie as 'n inligtingstuk beskikbaar gestel word om later rustig te lees nie? - Andre

I thought the experience was rather unique. I have visited many vineyards over the years and this had several aspects which were very interesting, especially for someone who is keen on wine and its development and history. If I were to suggest one thing, it would be to adjust the starting time of this event (bringing it forward by an hour or two) enabling guests to subsequently visit the other tasting room at your vineyard, especially as it took us over two hours to reach the venue from where we live in Somerset West. - Andrew
